Dr. Ali Al-Khouri

Director General – Emirates Identity Authority, UAE

Speaks at ID WORLD on the CEO & Investor’s Forum

Dr. Ali M. Al-Khouri is the Director General of Emirates Identity Authority in the United Arab Emirates. He has been working in the government sector for more than 20 years. He has graduated from top leading UK universities. He received his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Business IT management from Manchester University; M.Sc. in Information Management from Lancaster University; and EngD in Strategic and Large Scale Projects Management in Public Sector from Warwick University. He has been involved in many strategic government programs, and lately the multi-billion dollar program; the UAE National Identity Management Infrastructure. He is a member of the UAE ePassport Steering Committee, and a member of the Board of Directors of the UAE National Statistics Centre, and a member of the GCC Steering Committee for ID Cards interoperability and advanced applications in member states. His research interest areas focus on developing best practices in public sector management and the development of information societies.

“DIGITAL ID TECHNOLOGIES: THE GATEWAY TO THE COMING OF THE NEW AGE”

The presentation will review the topic of e-Government and the evolution of Digital Identities. It will shed light on key enablers, and the role played by the Governments worldwide, who are realizing the value and impact of such technologies on their economies and the development of their informational societies. Primarily, the presentation will showcase and provide an overview of the Digital IDentity Project that was launched by the Government of the United Arab Emirates towards the end of 2010. It will also outline major outcomes and measurements of strategic value and ROI gained to date, and the projected change on the economy and the national society overall.
