Pietro Pacini has been ICT Government & Architecture Director of Poste Italiane since September 2010. He has extensive and international experience in the telecom industry, including company start up, focusing in particular on management, customer operations and ICT development. He has more than 15 years experience in Technology and Customer Operations area in Telecom Italia S.p.a. He was COO of Telecom Italia France (2004) and CEO of Telecontact S.p.a. (2005 – 2006).
Then In Vodafone Italy he was responsable for Sales Direct Channel and CEO of Vodafone Gestioni S.p.a. (2007-2010)
In this exposition is analyzed the solution for eCommerce of Poste Italiane, named PosteCommerce, focusing on the value added services provided along the entire chain of sale and delivery. In particular the presence and the capability of Poste Italiane in every stage of the process is remarked.
Starting from the attitudes of the consumers, that are more and more informed and linked through the use of web and social applications, an insight of the merchants’ perception of the online opportunity is given. In this context, Poste Italiane is positioned with the capabilities to match these two demands, supporting the merchants online business, providing trustness and visibility, and fulfilling all the task needed in the eCommerce process: a multichannel catalogue exposition (via mobile, web or postal office), a secure payment platform, including the possibility of mobile payments through the PosteMobile SIM, a supporting contact center, warehousing and delivery services and reverse logistic services to support the post sale and withdrawal process.
The attention is drawn to the end to end presence of Poste Italiane during the delivery process. Now, even the starting withdrawal step is supported: is not anymore needed to go to the postal office to send a parcel but, with the new service “Web Pacchi”, is possible a direct home withdrawal; and all of this is manageable online.
Then is analyzed the positioning and the offering of PosteCommerce through the two lines of services: for the small enterprises and for the medium/large enterprises.
Finally is given an insight on the mobile payments capabilities, analyzing the advantages of this channel enabled by PosteMobile SIM.
